The police support portal ‘Thuna ‘(https://thuna.keralapolice.gov.in/) has undergone a revamp to include a range of new services. These services encompass the handling of complaints concerning lost items for investigation, as well as the subsequent return of any found items. Additionally, the portal facilitates the closure of proceedings in cases where the complainant withdraws their complaint. Moreover, the portal enables the issuance of certificates stating the status of lost items, whether they are found or not.
Moreover, organizations planning processions and protests can now notify the district police and special branch through the support portal. Permission notices will be provided to applicants directly from the police station.
In order to streamline the process, the portal now offers an online payment system that allows insurance companies to obtain motor vehicle accident-related documents. These documents include 13 types of certificates, such as treatment records, injury reports, and vehicle registration details. Each document can be purchased for a fee of ₹100. Additionally, the portal provides facilities for obtaining an accident GD (General Diary) copy, requesting permission to use a microphone, filing a complaint, and applying for a certificate of non-involvement in a criminal case. These services are available within the portal's section called 'Tuna'. The application status can be tracked through the portal and SMS notifications, and users can also download copies of the FIR (First Information Report).
