On April 2, the forest-friendly gathering will hold its state-level inauguration in Mananthavady. The event will be attended by people's representatives of local bodies, political parties, and agricultural organizations, all of whom aim to address the concerns of those living in forest fringe areas. The gathering seeks to establish a cordial relationship between the public and the forest department, promptly solve the problems faced by the residents, and create a friendly atmosphere in the region. Twenty designated centers across 223 local bodies in 51 assembly constituencies will hold the gathering.
The event will prioritize resolving public grievances already received by the forest department in various offices, revising guidelines for mitigating human-wildlife conflicts, and gathering feedback from experts and the general public. Additionally, the forest-friendly gathering will provide an explanation on the projects taken up and being adopted by the department. Residents can submit complaints and suggestions through a designated counter set up in the audience.
