The Minority Welfare Department has invited applications for financial assistance under the Imbichi Bava Housing Renovation Scheme. This scheme is intended for widows, divorced, or abandoned women belonging to minority religious communities, including Muslim, Christian, Buddhist, Sikh, Parsi, and Jain.

The financial assistance is meant to improve the basic facilities of houses that lack proper windows, doors, roofing, flooring, finishing, plumbing, sanitation, or electrification. An amount of Rs. 50,000 will be provided for the repair of a house. This is a non-repayable grant.

To be eligible, the maximum area of the house in the name of the applicant or her spouse should not exceed 1200 sq. ft. The applicant must be the sole earning member of the family. Preference will be given to those from Below Poverty Line (BPL) families. Additional preference will be given to applicants or their children who face physical or mental challenges, as well as to those who have only girl children or no children.

Widows whose children are receiving a regular income from government or semi-government institutions, and those who have received assistance for house construction from the government or similar agencies within the last 10 years, are not eligible to apply. Applications must be submitted using the official application form provided by the department.

The following documents should be submitted along with the completed application- a copy of the land tax receipt for the financial year 2025–26 in the name of the applicant or her spouse, a copy of the ration card, a certificate from the authorised officer of the concerned local self-government body, verifying the need for house repairs, the area of the house, and confirming that the applicant has not received similar benefits for house construction or renovation from any other department or agency within the last 10 years.

Applications, along with all required documents, may be submitted in person to the Minority Welfare Section of the respective District Collectorate, or sent by post to Deputy Collector (General), District Minority Welfare Section, District Collectorate. The application form can be downloaded from the website: www.minoritywelfare.kerala.gov.in. The last date for receipt of applications at the respective District Collectorates is 31st July 2025.
