The Stream Ecosystem scheme has been launched in collaboration with higher education and general education departments to empower the next generation as scientific innovators. The project aims to find solutions to social problems and daily life situations by relating them to specific knowledge areas in context. Various hubs will be equipped to facilitate this process. Samagra Shiksha Kerala is implementing the project in association with Cochin University of Science and Technology.

The scheme aims to make academic fields more engaging by connecting classroom learning activities with society through an interdisciplinary approach. It also aims to integrate curricular and extra-curricular activities to consolidate scientific and technical knowledge, making it practical for students. The Stream Ecosystem will act as a guide, enabling students to master new technological disciplines, including robotics and artificial intelligence, as well as conducting experiments in science, sociology, and mathematics.

The project is expected to lay the foundation for revolutionary changes in the field of public education and is being implemented in Alappuzha in the first phase. It will operate in all 11 BRCs of the district, with an experimental research system centered on 'Stream Ecosystem' hubs. By setting up Stream Ecosystem hubs in selected schools under BRC, training will also be available for children from other schools. ₹ 2.20 crores have been earmarked for the scheme to be implemented in the entire district.
