A Safe Road to School Program (SRS) is a road safety awareness training programme conducted jointly by the Kerala Road Safety Authority (KRSA) and the National Transportation Planning and Research Centre (NATPAC) for selected students from the upper primary level to higher secondary level.
As part of this, a one-day awareness training on road safety will be conducted for students of selected 100 schools in 14 districts. Students who are members of the Road Safety Cell of each selected school will be given expert training on road safety. In addition, important road safety issues in the school premises will be identified through inspection and remedial measures will be suggested to improve safety. The objective of the programme is to inculcate a sense of road safety in the minds of students through the active involvement of teachers, parents and the general public.
