Under the Submission on Agricultural Mechanization (Agricultural Mechanization Sub-Scheme - SMAM) scheme, subsidized agricultural machinery and equipment for post-harvest, crop processing, and value-addition activities are provided. Farmers can register at agrimachinery.nic.in/index from August 1 to avail of the benefit. The scheme offers 40% to 60% subsidy to individual beneficiaries and 40% financial assistance of the project amount to Farmers' Associations, FPOs, Individuals, Panchayats, etc., for setting up Farm Machinery Rental Centers (Custom Hiring Centers). Farmer groups can also receive a maximum of 80% financial assistance of ₹8 lakh to set up farm machinery banks, particularly in areas with low levels of mechanization.
