To ensure the safety of school buses, the Motor Vehicle Department will carry out extensive inspections under the name Safe School Bus from February 13 to 17. The department will examine the buses at schools. The functioning of machinery, wiring, fire protection system, emergency door, first aid box, speed governor, etc. will be examined. If the defect is found, the service will be allowed only after it is rectified. Officials from the District Enforcement Division, RTO, and Sub-RTO divisions will also inspect if more than the permitted number of children are in the buses.
