As part of the state government's second 100-day action plan, it has announced a new scheme titiled 'Merry Home housing scheme' for the homeless and thedifferently abled persons in the state. Housing loans are made available to differently abled through the Finance Development Corporation. Only nominal interest is charged on the loan. In the first phase, loans will be given to employees of government, quasi-government and co-operative institutions.
