Mangalamkali took center stage at the 63rd State School Kalolsavam

On the first day of the 63rd State School Kalolsavam, Mangalamkali, a traditional dance form, was showcased at the Kabani venue in the Nisha Gandhi Auditorium. The competition was organized for the high school and higher secondary categories.

Mangalamkali is a dance performed by the tribal communities of Kasaragod, including the Mavilars and Malavettuvan communities. The teams presented an exhilarating performance, and the first round of the competition was met with significant popularity from the audience.

This year, for the first time, five indigenous dance forms were included as competitive categories at the Kalolsavam. In addition to Mangalamkali, other tribal dances such as Paniyanruthu, Malappulayatam, Irul Nrutham, and Paliyanruthu will be showcased at the Kabani venue at Nisha Gandhi on upcoming days.
