Kerala Savari, Kerala's first online auto-taxi service in the government sector, will start operations on August 17. The project is being implemented in collaboration with the State Department of Labor and Public Sector Undertaking Palakkad Indian Telephone Industries (ITI). The project, which is being implemented in the Thiruvananthapuram Municipal Corporation as the trial  basis, will be extended to other districts as well. The project is being implemented under the leadership of Motor Workers Welfare Board with the cooperation of Planning Board, Legal Metrology, Transport, IT and Police Departments.

More than 500 auto and taxi drivers who have obtained police character certificates have already completed the training. While ensuring a decent wage for drivers, the service charge will be only 8% and will be collected from the customers as per the government's fixed amount. 60% of the amount collected as service charge will be utilized for project implementation and providing incentives and promotional offers to passengers and drivers etc. Unlike private online taxi services, fares in Kerala Savaari do not vary according to the rush.

A panic button system has been implemented in the Kerala Savaari app, which gives priority to the safety of the passengers. Passengers can use the panic button to contact the police, fire force and the Department of Motor Vehicles in a completely private manner in emergency situations. Drivers may not realize passengers are using the panic button. Kerala Savaari stickers will be installed for easy identification of the vehicle. As part of safety precautions, GPS will be installed in vehicles at subsidized rates in a phased manner. It has also been decided to attach. Special parking will be provided for Kerala ride at airport and railway station.

Motor workers who become members of the scheme will get discounts on oil, vehicle insurance, tires and batteries through the concerned agency. In the second phase, insurance and accident insurance will be introduced for passengers and drivers.
