Water Authority Ensures Drinking Water Facilities for State Kalolsavam

The Water Authority has provided extensive drinking water facilities at Putharikandam Maithanam, the food venue of the 63rd Kerala School Kalolsavam. A 40,000-liter storage facility has been set up at the venue to support the distribution of food to 20,000 people, four times a day.

Tanks are also installed at various places to ensure availability of water. There is also a system for filling the tanks with water through a new pipe connection on the way from Putharikandam to Pazhavangadi to the railway station.

The water authority has also set up a 24-hour control room. Officials have also been deputed to visit the schools where the children are accommodated and to ensure water supply through the corporation's tank to the schools without pipe connection.

The Quality Control Wing of the Water Authority conducts daily drinking water tests at Putharikandam Maidan, where food is distributed. Additionally, an RC kit has been provided to the control room personnel for monitoring the chlorine content of the water. Inspections are carried out every hour.
