Kerala, which has achieved full literacy for the first time in India, is now embarking on a mission to become the country's first state to attain full digital literacy. The 'Digi Kerala' project, announced as part of the third phase of a 100-day action plan, is aimed at ensuring that the benefits of modern technology are accessible to everyone.Under the project, the government is planning to make its services available online and promote awareness of online payment transactions, as well as making authentic documents, including certificates, available digitally. The Local Self Government Department is taking the lead in implementing the necessary steps to achieve this target within six months. Digi Kerala seeks to replicate the success of Pullampara (Read more-Pullampara become the first fully digitally literate panchayath in the country),India's first fully literate panchayat, and aims to create a fully prosperous Kerala  by promoting awareness on the usage of smartphones, video/audio calls, downloading photos and videos, and introducing YouTube and social media, among other gigital awareness activities.
