First Indian State to achieve total literacy. State first to implement land reforms. State with highest life expectancy. State with lowest birth rate. State with lowest infant mortality. Only state with hospital facility in every village. State in which the communication infrastructure is the highest.
Kerala Now
On the occasion of the 154th birth anniversary of Sree Narayana Guru important public figures of Kerala Society observed that Kerala is indebted to the teachings of the Guru for the evolution of a society of religious tolerance and harmony in the State. In fact from the days of its early history Kerala had been tolerant towards different faiths that contributed to its great cultural mosaic. In modern times the teachings of Sree Narayana Guru further strengthened this legacy. Thanks to this socio-cultural élan we could maintain communal harmony and peace in the State while communal hatred wrought havoc in other parts of the country. Malayalees should feel proud of this tradition of tolerance and harmony and rededicate ourselves to this ethos by resisting all nefarious attempts to disturb this religious harmony reigning supreme in our polity.
