The Vigilance & Anti-corruption Bureau, functioning as a separate Department since 1964, is the main Agency of the State to deal with Cases involving corruption. The Bureau conducts investigation/Enquiries into the following types of allegations involving Government Servants and Public Servants including those working in the Public sector undertakings of the State Government. (i) Criminal misconduct of Public Servants as defined in PC Act 1988. ORGANISATIONAL STRUCTURE
The Vigilance & Anti-Corruption Bureau is headed by the Director who is of the rank of Director General of Police. At present the Director is assisted by one Additional Director General of Police. There is a Superintendent of Police (Int.) functioning in the Directorate for assisting the Director in administrative matters and for supervising the work of Intelligence Branch. Ministerial Wing The Ministerial Staff are appointed through Kerala Public Service Commission. The details of the employees who are holding the posts presently at VACB Directorate: The Ministerial Wing also includes 6 Junior Superintendents, 1 Cashier, 1 Head Clerk, 47 UDC/LDC’s, 1 Fair Copy Superintendent, 9 Typists, 6 Confidential Assistants, 1 Attender and 4 Peons in the Directorate. Legal Wing Technical Wing Intelligence Wing Computer Wing (i) Range Level There are four Ranges each headed by a Superintendent of Police with supervisory territorial jurisdiction located at Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam, Ernakulam and Kozhikode.
