Vilasini, Shri.Prakash was born at Adoor on 24th May, 1955. Entered politics through Students Movement and he became president of KSU(I) Kollam Taluk Committee in 1978. He was president of Youth Congress (I) Pathanamthitta Dist. and General Secretary of Youth Congress (I) State Committee.Also he was Joint Secretary of KPCC and Vice President of Pathanamthitta DCC(I). He served as a member of Library Advisory Committee and the Committee on Environment, Kerala Legislative Assembly.He has been elected to Legislative assembly for the third consecutive time from Konni constituency as a Congress candidate. In the previous Oommen Chandy Ministry, he served as the Minister for Food and Civil supplies and Consumer Affairs. He is becoming Minister for the second time.
